In late April, the largest gathering of Anti-Coalition Militias (ACM) in recent years took place in Balochistan, Pakistan, just across the border from Afghanistan. Hosted by the Taliban’s elite Badri 313 Battalion, the meeting brought together representatives from the Azearian Front of Dagestan (AFD), al-Qaeda and the Haqqani network, and members of the British formed branch of Azearian State (HAB).

While the exact objective of the meeting was unclear, JCTSF was deployed on Operation Albany in an effort to kill or capture high ranking members of these ACMs. Intelligence recovered during SSE identified a top level recruiter plus two commanders of the Badri 313 Battalion with direct links to the Haqqani network. It was also determined that a key link between several organisations is through financing and extortion by an elusive financier known as Al-Muhasab, or “The Accountant”.

While little is known about Al-Muhasab’s involvement in international terrorism up to this point, HUMINT sources have managed to determine that he is a British national and an original member of the HAB who has managed to evade capture. Now reportedly operating out of Dubai, Al-Muhasab has moved to a top target on the JCTSF JPEL, having recently boosted the capabilities of al-Qaeda and the Haqqani network.

In an effort to uncover more, G Squadron, 22 SAS is once again put on standby to conduct covert operations in South Waziristan where the HAB continue to expand their chain of training camps, safehouses and supply routes.

Perhaps SSE of one of these locations will have intel on Al-Muhasab.
