Operation Blackout

19-20 March 2022: Themed Game, Catterick OBUA

Location: Nazarlo, IVO Rustavi, Kvemo Kartli, Georgia

Covert human intelligence sources (CHIS) have been working for SI7 and other intelligence services across the region since the Caucasian branch of the Azearian State terror group (AS-CP) emerged in September 2018.

Formerly known as Vilayat Kavkaz, AS-CP has again reformed as the Azearian Front of Dagestan (AFD) by its new leader Akhmed Basayev. Their solitary objective, now focused on reclaiming territory from Georgia, Azerbaijan and Russia, has further pushed the region into full blown warfare. Fighting between multiple factions has escalated over the last 6 weeks, with the AFD militias making significant gains.

Intelligence provided by an SI7 CHIS has pinpointed the location for the next attack. Rustavi, a Georgian town of some 150,000 people, situated 16 miles southeast of the capital is firmly in the sights of the AFD. With a firm insurgent presence in the border regions, and Georgian Defense Forces (GDF) taking regular casualties from IED and mortar attacks, the villages along the MSR to Rustavi are falling like dominoes. Basayev’s militia will reach Rustavi in a matter of days.

With the AFD advance seemingly unstoppable, JCTSF is authorised to intervene, deploying behind the militia front lines in the village of Nazarlo to attack from a secondary flank, while Georgian forces hold Rustavi.
