Operation Alexandra

18-19 September 2021: Combat Mission, The Trees
Location: Imobi, IVO Omo Forests, Ogun State, Nigeria

Despite JCTSF intervention in August, the siege of Lagos continues. Azearian militants surround the city with Nigerian security forces and private military contractors struggling to evacuate the thousands of civilians trapped by Azearian State roadblocks and hunted by execution squads.

The Azearian State (AS) terror group seeks to establish a stronghold on the Gulf of Guinea, from where their weapons supply, distribution and piracy operations can easily expand. It is only a matter of time before Lagos falls into their hands. The UNSC has begun the process of sending aid and peacekeeping units to the region but it will be months before deployment can actually begin.

In the meantime the only hope for the refugees of Lagos is from the charity organisations already established in the area. Though limited in number, these aid camps provide necessary assistance to the civilians caught up in the Lagos siege.

One such camp, a Red Cross mission on the borders of the Omo Forestry Reserve has become a target for militant attacks in recent days. The small group of PMCs assisting with the protection are due to be extracted in the next 72 hours and then the mission will be completely defenceless.

It is assessed that this Red Cross camp is on the resupply route for AS, and so needs to be relocated, but the hundreds of injured civilians in the villages nearby make it almost impossible to do so. What’s more, SIGINT has suggested that the Emir of Azearian State, Omar Gawd, AKA Objective Sharp Break, is en-route through Ogun State with the intention of visiting his new stronghold in Lagos.

TF29 from JCTSF are deployed to intercept Sharp Break, assist in the defence of the Red Cross mission and extract all British and American aid workers before the mission is overrun by advancing militants.
